The terms are short because the site is simple: there are no accounts, no payments and no user-submitted content.

1. Use of the site

The site is offered free of charge, for entertainment. You may play as much as you like, on as many devices as you like. We only ask that you not try to disrupt it for others, and that you not pass it off as your own.

2. No gambling

None of the four games involves a wager, a prize, a drawing, virtual currency or a purchase. Best scores and streaks can't be exchanged for anything and stay on your device. There is no consideration, no prize, and the outcome depends on skill, so under state gambling, sweepstakes and contest laws and the federal Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), this site is not gambling, a lottery or a sweepstakes, and it is not a gateway to any such service.

3. Intellectual property

The code, text, illustrations and silhouette generator are ours and remain our property under the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17 U.S.C.). You may play them and talk about them freely; you may not republish them as your own work. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to [email protected].

4. No affiliation

Our four games use well-known rules. We name these games so you know what you're playing, not to imply a connection that doesn't exist.

2048 was created by Gabriele Cirulli and released as open-source software (MIT license), itself inspired by the games Threes and 1024. “2048” names the game; our version is an independent rewrite.
Snake is a video game genre dating back to the 1970s (Blockade), later popularized on cell phones. It's a genre, not a trademark.
Memory is a registered trademark of Ravensburger. The concentration game itself is in the public domain; our game is called Pairs and has no connection with Ravensburger.
Tangram is a traditional Chinese puzzle, in the public domain for centuries. Our silhouettes are generated by our own code.

5. No warranty

The site is provided “as is.” We test it seriously — each game's rules are covered by automated tests, and every Tangram silhouette is verified solvable — but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, a total absence of bugs, or compatibility with every browser past and future. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Since the site is free and collects no personal information, the exposure on either side is slim.

7. Content kept on your device

Your best scores and your streak live in your browser's local storage. Clearing that storage erases them permanently. We keep no copy and therefore can't restore them.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Memphis, Tennessee. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights you have under the laws of your state of residence.
